Message of light.

Yesterday I was anxious and could not shake it. My chest felt tight and my space electric in a unstable way. I asked... for help. Then I heard something say... When you think of God, (or whatever you may call it...) the part of it that looks like, feels like, is light to you... that same light, if you really pause and think of it, is in everything. In the people you are lucky enough to meet during the day you are lucky enough to be awake in... there is light. It comes from the same place, can connect in the same space and is the warmth, peace, and energy. A voice spoke to me and I was at peace.

Green Car

The Green Car: Morning crisp Sun brighter than it needs to be But I have little control over the sun or Where this is heading Lies and mom and I must go To the park to meet my childhood friend and foe that will soon be let go... As soon as that green car All I know is that it’s a green car Comes rolling down the road Walk down the street That I learned to play Learned to ride a bike on an almost as, sunny day Not as bright but life changed In a big way That day that I rode away As soon as that green car Comes rolling up to my side And I look in at you and can no longer hide From where this is heading Where you will take me with you, Away. And I’ll Never look back, Because I'm hoping you'll say That you love me more And will hold me tight And suddenly all that is wrong in me, will be right. As we speed so far Far far and away In a green car.

Daylight.

The view from a patio on a beautiful New York afternoon. It never was really free, There is always a cost to the purchase we choose to make. And the one we pass on. The sunlight comes and goes and you learn cherish it and run to meet it when it is here. It causes conversation and ideas and the boys to strut a bit more in their step. Down the Ninth Av runway. And War bangs on. (Like some tired old song) We egg, And toss, And bill, And scoff. Running to the light when it comes. Shining, Let in by the sun.

Beijing Spring: Playing the role of "Xian" in this exciting revival at East West Players.

Beijing Spring Directed by Tim Dang Lyrics by Tim Dang Music by Joel Iwataki Musical direction by Noriko Olling Wright Choreography by Marcus Choi May 15 – June 15, 2014 A sung-through musical commemorating the events of the Tiananmen Square Uprising in Beijing in 1989. For weeks, the world’s eyes were on China as the youth fought for democracy against the hardliners of the Chinese Communist Party. This year will mark the 25th anniversary of the Uprising. BEIJING SPRING is a compelling reminder that the battle for freedom and human rights has yet to be won for many. Generous support for this production is provided by the S. Mark Taper Foundation Endowment for East West Players. Running time: 90 minutes with no intermission.
